Job Title: Office IT Administrator
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Office IT Administrator with 5–6 years of hands-on experience to own the day-to-day operation of the IT infrastructure supporting a corporate office of 700–1,000 employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for enterprise network administration — with strong, demonstrable expertise in Cisco and NETGEAR switch configuration — as well as server administration, mail system configuration and administration, information security, and end-user support. This role requires an independent, service-oriented skilled capable of maintaining high availability across a large, business-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain server hardware, operating systems, business applications, and the corporate LAN/WLAN serving 400–500 users
- Administer Active Directory, including user accounts, group policy, permissions, and role-based access control across all office users
- Administer physical and virtual servers (Windows Server / Linux), monitor system performance and capacity, and resolve incidents within agreed service levels
- Provide first- and second-line technical support to employees across desktops, laptops, mobile devices, email, VPN, and printing, and manage escalation and ticket queues
- Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Cisco and NETGEAR managed switches, including VLANs, trunking, inter-VLAN routing, port security, link aggregation, QoS, and IOS/firmware upgrades
- Own backup, restoration, and disaster-recovery processes, and periodically test recovery to verify data integrity
- Manage patching, software deployment, endpoint protection, and enforcement of IT security policies
- Configure and administer corporate mail systems (Microsoft 365 / Exchange), including mailbox provisioning, distribution groups, SMTP relay, mail routing, and SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records
- Manage vendors, ISPs,
and AMC partners for procurement, licensing renewals, and escalated issue resolution
- Maintain network diagrams, IT documentation, SOPs, and a complete hardware and software asset inventory
Required Skills:
- Proven expertise in Cisco switch configuration (IOS CLI, VLANs, trunking, STP, port security, stacking)
- Hands-on experience configuring and managing NETGEAR managed switches and access points
- Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and structured cabling
- Solid administration experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS/DHCP services
- Practical experience with mail server configuration and administration (Microsoft 365 / Exchange), including mail flow, security, and anti-spam controls
- Working knowledge of enterprise firewalls (Sophos, Fortinet, or equivalent) and virtualization (VMware / Hyper-V)
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder-coordination skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
- 5–6 years of progressive experience in IT administration, including direct responsibility for an office environment of 700–1,000 users
- Certifications (preferred):
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) — or Cisco CCNP Enterprise for senior candidates
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate / Messaging Administrator Associate
- CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+
- ITIL 4 Foundation (IT service management)
- VMware VCP-DCV or Microsoft Hyper-V certification (virtualization)
- Fortinet NSE 4 or Sophos Certified Engineer (firewall administration)
Additional Requirements (Optional):
- Experience with CCTV, access control, or AV systems
- Knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery
- Ability to support multiple sites and remote users, and to work outside standard hours for planned maintenance windows
