Head – Procurement and Supply Chain

Chennai, Tamil Nadu | Full-time

Manufacturer and distributor of precision surgical instruments, medical devices, disposables and hospital equipment, with manufacturing facilities, a head office and branches across India, plus partnerships with international manufacturers and suppliers.

We're looking for an experienced Head – Procurement and Supply Chain to lead our domestic and international procurement. You'll own material availability, vendor development, commercial negotiations, import coordination, branch support, procurement systems and documentation compliance — working closely with our factory, branches, sales teams and overseas suppliers.

What you'll do

- Lead end-to-end procurement of raw materials, components, finished products, medical equipment, surgical instruments, disposables, packaging and capital equipment
- Convert sales forecasts, production needs and branch indents into structured procurement plans, and issue/track POs, enquiries and delivery schedules
- Identify, develop and manage domestic and international vendors — negotiate pricing, terms and contracts, and maintain an Approved Vendor List with scorecards
- Manage international procurement and imports: Incoterms, customs clearance, freight forwarders, landed cost, and compliance for imported medical devices
- Act as the central procurement contact for branches across India,



standardising processes and consolidating requirements to improve buying power
- Ensure procurement and import documentation (ISO 13485, CDSCO, CE, COA, import licences, etc.) is complete, current and audit-ready
- Strengthen ERP-based procurement systems, build dashboards, and report on shortages, savings, imports and vendor risk to management
- Lead, mentor and build accountability across the procurement team

What we're looking for

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Commerce, Pharmacy, Science or Business Administration (postgraduate degree a plus)
- 12–18 years in procurement/supply chain, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role
- Experience in medical devices, surgical instruments, healthcare equipment, pharma, or another regulated/precision-manufacturing industry
- Strong track record in both domestic and international procurement, including imports and customs clearance
- Experience managing procurement across a factory plus multiple branches or locations
- Working knowledge of ERP/procurement systems and medical-device quality/regulatory documentation (ISO 13485, CDSCO, CE, MDR)
- Strong negotiation, stakeholder-management and numerical/landed-cost analysis skills
- Willing to travel to branches, factories and vendor sites
