CNC Machine Operator – Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and responsible CNC Machine Operator to operate CNC machinery for furniture and interior production. The candidate will be responsible for machine operation, job setup, tool selection, cutting, drilling, quality checking, and ensuring smooth production as per approved drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and monitor CNC machines for furniture and interior components.
- Read and understand CNC drawings, layouts, dimensions, and cutting details.
- Load and unload materials such as plywood, MDF, HDF, acrylic and other boards.
- Set up machines, tools, cutting parameters, and work coordinates as required.
- Run CNC programs and monitor machine performance during production.
- Perform cutting, drilling, routing, grooving, and other machining operations.
- Check finished components for dimensions, accuracy, and quality.
- Identify and rectify basic machine/programming issues.
- Coordinate with the CNC Programmer, Draughtsman, Production Team, and Supervisor.
- Ensure correct material and drawing are used for every job.




- Maintain proper production records and report machine or material issues.
- Perform regular cleaning and basic maintenance of the CNC machine.
- Follow all safety procedures and workplace standards while operating machinery.
- Minimise material wastage and ensure efficient machine utilisation.
- Complete assigned production work within the required timeline.

Required Skills

- Hands-on experience operating CNC machines.
- Knowledge of CNC cutting, drilling, routing and grooving operations.
- Ability to read technical/furniture drawings.
- Basic understanding of CNC programs, tools, and machine settings.
- Knowledge of furniture manufacturing and panel processing will be preferred.
- Good attention to detail and quality awareness.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic machine and operational issues.
- Good coordination and communication skills.

Qualification

ITI / Diploma / Technical qualification in CNC, Mechanical, Production, or a related field will be preferred.

Preferred Experience

Experience in furniture, modular furniture, interior fit-out, or wood-panel manufacturing will be an added advantage.
