Job Description:
Purpose and Value Proposition of the Role
- Purpose of This Role: A Project Manager's role spans the full lifecycle of an order to ensure opportunities and service projects are executed smoothly, delivering projects on time, within budget, and achieving business goals and high customer satisfaction.
- Scope & Coverage: Manages end-to-end execution, scheduling, resource planning,
and PMO governance for service projects across Neptunus offerings—including Engine Condition Monitoring Systems, Oil Quality Management Systems, dewatering/pump packages, and mechanical asset maintenance.
- Focus Area: While deep internal engine teardown expertise is not required, the Project Manager takes operational ownership of execution, cross-functional coordination, site HSE compliance, and client delivery for mid-sized service projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Lifecycle Ownership: Convert client requirements into structured project charters, work breakdown structures (WBS), execution plans, and work packs.
- Schedule & Progress Control: Baseline project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project; track project KPIs, progress against milestones, and manage schedule recovery plans.
- Resource & Mobilization Readiness: Coordinate with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure site manpower, tools, parts lists, and technical documentation are fully ready prior to mobilization or dry-dock schedules.
- Stakeholder & Client Management: Serve as the primary contact for clients, ship staff, technical superintendents, and internal stakeholders (Sales, Delivery, Commercial).
- Site Governance & HSE: Enforce Permit to Work (PTW), SIMOPS, risk assessments,
and ISO 9001 quality compliance across execution sites.
- Cost & Risk Management: Monitor project budgets, manage variation orders, track risk registers, and mitigate operational delays early.
- Project Close-out & Reliability: Facilitate SAT/commissioning sign-offs, compile final service reports, conduct close-out reviews, and feed asset condition/predictive maintenance insights back into technical teams.
What We Are Looking For / Ideal Candidate
- Education: BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Marine, or Industrial Engineering.
- Certification: PMP (PMI) certification required; Six Sigma Black Belt or ISO Auditor certifications are preferred.
- Experience: 5–8 years of experience managing mid-sized service, commissioning, turnaround, or EPC-support projects.
- Industry Background: Service companies, Marine/Offshore, Oil & Gas, Power Plants, Heavy Industry, or Rotating Equipment/Pump OEM environments.
- PM Tools & Analytics: Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Project, Smartsheet, Power BI, and SAP MM.
- Leadership Capabilities: Strong coordination skills with a track record of leading multi-disciplinary field personnel and subcontractors under strict HSE guidelines.
