**Position:** Italian & Continental Chef

**Department:** Kitchen

**Location:** The Caffe Boutique Emporium, Jalandhar, Punjab

### Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare and cook **Italian and Continental dishes** according to the café’s recipes and quality standards.

2. Handle **pasta, pizza, sauces, soups, salads, starters, main courses and bakery-related preparations** as required.

3. Maintain consistent **taste, presentation, portion size and food quality**.

4. Ensure proper **mise en place, food preparation and kitchen organization** before service.

5. Maintain high standards of **food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety**.

6. Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.

7. Manage food storage, FIFO and minimize **food wastage**.

8. Coordinate with the **Head Chef, kitchen staff and service team** for smooth operations.

9. Assist in developing and testing **new Italian & Continental menu items**.

10. Maintain proper cooking temperatures and follow standard recipes and portion controls.

11. Monitor kitchen equipment and report any malfunction or maintenance requirement.

12. Train and guide junior kitchen staff in Italian and Continental cooking techniques.

13. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, equipment and storage areas.





14. Follow all company policies, SOPs and instructions from management.

### Required Skills & Experience

* Minimum **2–5 years of relevant experience** in Italian/Continental cuisine.

* Strong knowledge of **Italian cooking techniques and ingredients**.

* Experience with pasta, sauces, pizza, and Continental cuisine preferred.

* Good understanding of **food safety and hygiene standards**.

* Ability to work efficiently during busy service hours.

* Good teamwork, discipline and communication skills.

* Ability to maintain consistent quality and presentation.

* Creativity and willingness to introduce new dishes.
