About the Role

Metalex Steel Strips Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Deputy Production Manager to manage day-to-day production activities, production planning, process control, quality coordination, packing and smooth dispatches.

The candidate should have hands-on experience in steel, aluminium, copper, metal processing, slitting, cutting, polishing or fabrication operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and execute production plans based on requirements received from customers / Sales / Planning.
- Convert customer requirements into clear machine-wise and operator-wise production plans.
- Issue daily production instructions to operators and ensure timely completion.
- Monitor production progress and machine utilization.
- Coordinate with Quality, Stores, Maintenance, PPC, Sales and Dispatch departments.
- Monitor in-process quality and ensure products meet customer specifications.
- Ensure production is carried out as per customer specifications, drawings, SOPs and quality requirements.
- Ensure proper identification, packing, labelling and protection of finished materials as per customer requirements.
- Plan and coordinate finished-goods dispatches.
- Arrange suitable vehicles and transportation in coordination with the concerned team.
- Ensure timely loading and dispatch of materials.
- Monitor production wastage, rejection, rework and productivity.
- Maintain daily production records and reports.
- Ensure proper housekeeping,



safety and discipline on the shop floor.
- Resolve day-to-day production issues and coordinate with Maintenance for machine breakdowns.
- Ensure smooth production flow and achieve daily/monthly production targets.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in the following areas will be preferred:

- Steel / Aluminium / Copper / other metal processing
- Steel coil slitting
- Sheet / plate cutting
- Grinding / polishing
- Fabrication operations
- Coil processing and packing
- Production planning and shop-floor management

Candidate Profile

- B.E. / B.Tech, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant production experience.
- Strong knowledge of production planning and shop-floor operations.
- Good understanding of quality requirements and customer specifications.
- Ability to manage operators and coordinate multiple departments.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Immediate joiners or candidates who can join within 1 month are preferred.
- Candidates currently based in Bangalore are preferred.
