About Crucible Studio
Crucible Studio is a boutique branding and marketing consultancy helping ambitious brands build stronger identities, digital presence, and measurable growth.
Our work spans branding, social media, content creation, influencer marketing, performance marketing, and website development. As we expand our digital capabilities, we're looking for a Website Developer who can independently build high-quality, responsive, and conversion-focused websites for our clients.
About the Role
We are looking for a versatile Website Developer who is comfortable taking a website project from initial requirements through development, testing, launch, and ongoing maintenance.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of both Shopify and WordPress, be comfortable customizing themes and plugins, and have an eye for clean design, usability, responsiveness, and performance.
You will work closely with our branding, content, and marketing teams to turn creative concepts and brand requirements into polished digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Shopify Development
- Build and customize Shopify websites based on client requirements and brand guidelines.
- Customize Shopify themes, sections, layouts, navigation, product pages, collections, cart, and checkout experiences.
- Configure Shopify stores, products, collections, payment gateways, shipping, taxes, and other essential settings.
- Integrate third-party Shopify apps and tools where required.
- Customize themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Ensure websites are responsive and optimized across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Implement conversion-focused elements such as product recommendations, promotional sections, lead forms, reviews, and calls-to-action.
- Troubleshoot Shopify issues and resolve technical bugs.
WordPress Development
- Build and customize WordPress websites from scratch or using existing themes/frameworks.
- Develop websites using platforms such as Elementor, Gutenberg, Divi, or similar builders.
- Configure and customize WordPress themes and plugins.
- Build and manage websites and online stores.
- Set up products, categories, payment gateways, shipping, checkout, and other e-commerce functionality.
- Integrate forms, analytics, pixels, CRM tools,
email marketing platforms, and other third-party services.
- Troubleshoot plugin conflicts, website errors, broken layouts, and other technical issues.
- Perform website updates, backups, security checks, and ongoing maintenance.
Website Performance & Optimization
- Ensure websites load quickly and perform well across devices.
- Optimize images, code, plugins, themes, and other website elements where required.
- Implement basic technical SEO best practices.
- Ensure websites are mobile-friendly and cross-browser compatible.
- Set up Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, and other tracking tools when required.
- Identify and resolve performance, usability, and technical issues.
Collaboration & Project Execution
- Work closely with the branding, design, content, and performance marketing teams.
- Translate Figma/design files and creative concepts into functional websites.
- Understand client requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
- Communicate timelines, technical requirements, and potential challenges clearly.
- Manage multiple website projects while meeting agreed deadlines.
- Conduct thorough testing before website launches.
- Provide post-launch support and resolve client issues when required.
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in Shopify and/or WordPress development.
- Strong practical experience building and customizing Shopify websites.
- Strong practical experience with WordPress.
- Good understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience working with Shopify Liquid is highly preferred.
- Experience with WordPress page builders such as Elementor or Gutenberg.
- Ability to customize themes rather than relying entirely on templates.
- Understanding of responsive web design and mobile-first development.
- Good understanding of website performance and basic technical SEO.
- Experience integrating third-party apps, plugins, APIs, forms, analytics, and marketing tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
Good to Have
- Experience with Figma-to-website development.
- Knowledge of PHP and basic backend development.
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks or libraries.
- Experience with Shopify APIs and custom integrations.
- Experience with WooCommerce customization.
- Knowledge of Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.

- Understanding of CRO and e-commerce best practices.
- Experience working with D2C brands, restaurants, real estate, startups, hospitality, or other consumer-facing businesses.
- Previous experience working with a marketing agency or consultancy.
What Matters Most
We are not looking for someone who simply knows how to install a theme and upload content.
We want someone who can look at a requirement and think:
"What's the best way to build this?"
You should be able to understand the brand, user journey, business objective, and marketing requirements behind a website, not just the technical implementation.
We value:
- Ownership
- Problem-solving
- Attention to detail
- Clean development
- Creative thinking
- Reliability
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Commercial understanding

- Potential for ongoing projects and long-term collaboration based on performance.
