Software Design Engineer — New Project
Location: Kolkata (Hybrid) | Full time | Experience: 2–5 years

The Role

We are looking for a Software Design Engineer who sits at the intersection of engineering and visual design — someone who can both build production-ready code and craft beautiful, pixel-precise interfaces. You will own the frontend implementation of our React Native mobile app and Next.js web platform, working from a high-fidelity design system and iterating quickly to ship features that look and feel premium.

This is an early-stage role. You will be one of the first engineering hires, which means high ownership, direct access to the founder, and the opportunity to shape how the product is built from the ground up.

What You Will Do

- Build and maintain the React Native (Expo) mobile app — implement screens, animations, and interactions to pixel-perfect fidelity. Own the mobile codebase end-to-end.
- Own the Next.js web frontend — build SSR pages, SEO-optimised product pages, and a marketing site. Maintain performance and Core Web Vitals.
- Implement and extend the design system — translate design tokens (colours, typography, spacing, radii) into a shared component library used across mobile and web.
- Collaborate on backend integration — work with our existing Hono.js API on Cloudflare Workers and Supabase to wire up real data: bookings, profiles, payments, and media uploads.
- Ship the full product lifecycle — from feature brief to production release on Cloudflare Pages and the App Stores.
- Iterate on UX quality — identify and fix interaction issues, loading states, and error handling. You care about how things feel, not just whether they work.

What We Are Looking For

Must have:





- 2–5 years of professional experience in frontend or full-stack engineering
- Strong React Native (Expo) experience — you have shipped at least one app to the Play Store or App Store
- Solid Next.js / React experience — SSR, dynamic routing, API routes, image optimisation
- High design sensitivity — you can look at a design file and reproduce it faithfully, including spacing, typography, and micro-interactions
- TypeScript proficiency — our entire codebase is TypeScript
- Comfort with REST APIs and async data patterns (React Query, SWR, or similar)
- Git-based workflow — PRs, branching, code review
