Job Description – Polyurethane Casting Operator

Reporting To: Production Supervisor / Production Manager

Job Purpose

To operate polyurethane casting equipment and carry out mixing, mould preparation, casting, curing and finishing activities while maintaining required product quality, safety and production standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare polyurethane raw materials as per approved formulation and batch instructions.
- Accurately weigh and mix Polyol, Isocyanate, pigments, additives and other chemicals.
- Operate PU casting / dispensing / mixing machines.
- Prepare, clean and apply release agent to moulds before casting.
- Pour or dispense polyurethane material into moulds without air bubbles or defects.
- Monitor mixing ratio, temperature, viscosity, pot life, curing time and mould temperature.
- Carry out demoulding, trimming, finishing and visual inspection of finished components.
- Check product dimensions, hardness, surface finish and other quality parameters.
- Maintain production and batch records accurately.
- Minimize rejection, wastage and material loss.
- Clean machines, mixing vessels, tools and moulds after production.
- Follow SOPs, PPE requirements, chemical handling procedures and EHS guidelines.
- Inform the supervisor immediately about machine abnormalities, quality problems or process deviations.




- Support preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of casting equipment.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S in the production area.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of polyurethane casting and moulding processes.
- Experience in handling Polyol and Isocyanate materials.
- Ability to understand mixing ratios and production formulations.
- Knowledge of weighing scales, temperature controllers and casting equipment.
- Basic troubleshooting ability.
- Good understanding of industrial safety and chemical handling.
- Ability to maintain production records.

Qualification

ITI / Diploma / 10th–12th with relevant technical experience

Experience

2–5 years of experience in polyurethane casting, PU moulding, rubber, plastic or chemical manufacturing preferred.

Preferred Candidate

Candidate should be disciplined, safety-conscious, physically fit and experienced in operating polyurethane casting processes in a manufacturing environment.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
