Job Purpose

To drive strategic sourcing activities for raw materials, components, bought-out parts, consumables, and services by developing reliable suppliers, achieving competitive commercial terms, reducing procurement costs, and ensuring timely material availability in line with quality and production requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Sourcing

- Develop and execute sourcing strategies based on business, production, cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
- Identify and evaluate new suppliers for raw materials, components, fabricated parts, and services.
- Develop alternate and multiple sources to reduce supplier dependency and supply-chain risks.
- Support new product development and new sourcing projects through supplier identification and development.

Supplier Development & Management

- Identify, assess, and develop suppliers based on technical capability, capacity, quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Conduct supplier evaluations and coordinate supplier improvement initiatives.
- Monitor supplier performance on Quality, Cost & Delivery (QCD).
- Build strong long-term relationships with strategic suppliers.

Cost Reduction & Commercial Negotiation

- Lead cost-reduction initiatives through competitive sourcing, negotiations, alternate suppliers, value engineering, and localization.
- Analyze supplier quotations and prepare techno-commercial comparisons.
- Negotiate price, payment terms, lead time, MOQ, warranty, and other commercial conditions.
- Identify opportunities for annual cost savings and procurement optimization.





RFQ & Purchase Coordination

- Float RFQs and ensure timely receipt of competitive quotations.
- Conduct quotation analysis and recommend suitable suppliers based on technical and commercial requirements.
- Coordinate with Purchase, Production, PPC, Quality, Design, Stores, and Finance for procurement requirements.
- Follow up on critical materials and support timely delivery to avoid production interruptions.

Supplier Quality & Delivery

- Coordinate with Quality and suppliers to resolve quality-related issues and rejections.
- Improve supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) and reduce delays.
- Support corrective and preventive actions for recurring supplier issues.

Procurement Planning & Risk Management

- Develop sourcing plans for critical and long-lead-time materials.
- Identify potential supply risks and establish contingency/alternate sourcing plans.
- Support inventory optimization by balancing material availability and procurement cost.

MIS & Documentation

- Maintain supplier database, quotation records, sourcing documentation, and commercial records.
- Prepare sourcing MIS, cost-saving reports, supplier performance reports, and management dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and ISO/QMS requirements.

Candidate Profile

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or related technical field.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing / Technical Procurement / Purchase / Supplier Development.
- Experience in automotive, heavy fabrication, trailer, engineering, or manufacturing industries will be preferred.
- Strong understanding of raw materials, fabricated components, bought-out parts, and engineering products.
- Good knowledge of RFQ, techno-commercial evaluation, cost analysis, negotiation, and supplier development.
- Ability to understand engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and technical requirements.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, vendor-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.
- Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills.

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates from Automotive, Heavy Engineering, Heavy Fabrication, Trailer Manufacturing, Chassis Manufacturing, or similar manufacturing industries will be preferred.

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
