- Insulation Installation: Measure, cut, and fit materials like fiberglass, foam, and mineral wool onto pipes, ducts, boilers, tanks, and structural bulkheads. [1, 2]
- Fire and Weather Protection: Apply vapor barriers, metal jacketing, and mastic coatings to protect insulation from moisture and ensure fire safety compliance
- Trade Experience: Background in marine insulation, industrial lagging, or sheet metal work.
- Tool Proficiency: Ability to safely use hand tools (knives, saws, tape measures) and power tools.
- Blueprint Reading: Skill in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and insulation schedules.
- Safety and Physical Fitness: Comfort working in tight, confined, or restricted shipboard spaces while wearing protective gear
