About S&S; Automobiles and Crane Services

S&S; is one of the region's established names in vehicle recovery and crane services. We operate a fleet of 20+ breakdown assistance vehicles and 13 cranes ranging up to 250 ton capacity, serving insurance companies, corporate fleets, contractors, and construction sites. With 60+ staff and growing, we're now investing in stronger systems and processes — and we're looking for an Accounts Manager to own our finance function as we scale.

The Role

You will run the complete accounting and financial control function of the company. We already have accounting assistants handling day-to-day entry work, so this is a leadership role — you'll supervise and guide the accounts team, and your focus will be on control, collections, compliance, and reporting rather than routine bookkeeping.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Books

- Oversee maintenance of complete and accurate books in Tally
- Review entries made by the accounts team and ensure accuracy
- Monthly bank reconciliation and month-end closing
- Maintain the fixed asset register for vehicles, cranes, and equipment

Billing

- Ensure every completed recovery, towing, and crane hire job is invoiced accurately and on time
- Verify job sheets, duty slips, and log sheets before releasing invoices
- Handle crane rental billing including hire charges, mobilization, overtime, and idle time as per contract
- Reconcile billing against dispatch records so no job goes unbilled

Receivables & Collections

- Own the receivables ledger and maintain a current ageing report
- Drive follow-up and recovery of dues from insurance companies, corporate clients, and credit customers
- Supervise the collection agent and escalate disputed or long-pending accounts
- Work continuously to reduce average collection days

Payables & Vendors

- Review and approve vendor bills — spares, tyres, fuel, workshop, subcontractors




- Maintain the payment schedule and reconcile vendor ledgers
- Reconcile fuel accounts against vehicle logs

Statutory Compliance

- GST returns, input credit reconciliation, and e-invoicing
- TDS deduction, deposit, and quarterly returns
- Coordinate with the auditor for finalization and statutory audit
- Track renewals for insurance, vehicle tax, permits, and fitness certificates

Payroll

- Oversee monthly payroll for 60+ staff including drivers, operators, and crew
- Overtime, night allowance, trip allowance, and incentive calculations
- Control and reconcile driver advances and trip expenses

Reporting to Management

- Monthly MIS covering P&L;, receivables ageing, and cash flow position
- Profitability reports for each vehicle and each crane
- Track fuel, maintenance, tyre, and driver costs against budget
- Flag cost overruns and margin drops proactively

Team, Systems & Process

- Lead, train, and review the accounting assistants
- Allocate work across the team and build accountability for accuracy and deadlines
- Support the rollout of our recent operations and accounts portal
- Document accounting SOPs so processes don't depend on individuals
- Coordinate with operations and dispatch so job data reaches accounts completely

What We're Looking For

- Someone who can lead a small team, not just work independently
- Firm and persistent on collections without damaging client relationships
- High integrity — this role oversees cash, payroll, and vendor payments
- Systems-minded, and comfortable working with drivers and site staff, not only office staff
- Willing to own outcomes, not just complete tasks

Candidates with experience in transport, logistics, construction equipment, or vehicle rental will be given preference, particularly those who have handled insurance company billing and settlements.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
