About Us
Manan Business Sales is an established Australian business brokerage specialising in the sale of businesses across Australia. We connect business owners looking to sell with qualified buyers seeking the right acquisition and we're looking for a senior negotiator to drive that process forward.
About the Role
This is not an appointment-setting or telemarketing role. We need a seasoned closer who can manage high-stakes commercial conversations with both vendors and buyers from first contact through to signed contract and settlement.
On the vendor side, you'll speak with business owners considering a sale, present the value of our services, negotiate advertising and marketing fees, manage pricing expectations, and secure commitment to proceed.
On the buyer side, you'll work with qualified buyers who've already shown interest following up after inspections and meetings, uncovering objections, and guiding them toward a formal offer.
You'll also negotiate directly between buyers and vendors on price, terms, settlement timing, and other deal conditions bridging gaps to reach commercially acceptable outcomes for both sides.
Key Responsibilities
- Present and negotiate advertising/marketing fees with prospective vendors
- Manage vendor expectations on pricing, valuation, and the sales process
- Engage qualified buyers and move them from interest to formal offers
- Identify and resolve objections related to price, finance, lease terms, or risk
- Negotiate between buyers and vendors to close commercially sound deals
- Maintain accurate CRM records and strong follow-up discipline
- Contribute to measurable outcomes across the full sales pipeline:
vendor conversion → fee commitment → buyer engagement → offers → negotiation → HOA → contract → settlement
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years in sales, business development, or commercial negotiation (real estate, finance, banking, insurance, B2B, or similar high-value sales environments)
- A demonstrated track record of personally closing deals not just generating leads
- Confidence discussing money, negotiating fees, and asking for the sale
- Robust objection-handling skills and composure in difficult conversations
- Commercial understanding of financial statements (Revenue, Gross Profit, Net Profit, add-backs, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written English
- Experience working with Australian clients highly regarded
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
- A degree in Business, Commerce, or Finance is a plus but not essential
Recruitment Process
Shortlisted candidates will complete a practical sales and negotiation assessment, which may include a live vendor-fee negotiation, a buyer closing scenario, and a buyer-vs-vendor price negotiation.
