Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QC Microbiologist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the microbiological safety and quality of our wet wipe products. You will oversee contamination control, execute rigorous testing of raw materials, formulation batches, water systems, and finished goods, and maintain strict environmental monitoring across our manufacturing facilities.The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of cosmetic or pharmaceutical Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and experience in handling preservative efficacy testing and hygiene audits.

Key Responsibilities

1. Microbiological Testing & Analysis

- Perform routine microbiological testing on raw materials (including non-woven substrates), bulk formulations, and finished wet wipe products to ensure compliance with standards.
- Conduct Total Viable Count (TVC), yeast and mold counts, and specific pathogen identification (e.g., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli).
- Execute Preservative Efficacy Testing (PET) / Challenge Testing to validate the stability and self-preserving capabilities of liquid formulations.
- Issue Certificates of Analysis (COA) for released batches.

2. Environmental Monitoring & Water Systems

- Perform daily/weekly microbiological monitoring of the water purification system (Total Organic Carbon, bioburden, and conductivity) since water is a primary component of wet wipe solutions.
- Conduct environmental monitoring (EM) using passive and active air sampling,



as well as surface swabs of manufacturing equipment and cleanroom areas to maintain hygiene standards.

3. Compliance & Documentation

- Ensure all laboratory operations follow cGMP, ISO 22716 (Cosmetic GMP), ISO 9001, and local regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain accurate, traceable records of all test results, media preparation logs, and autoclave sterilization cycles following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Author, review, and update Microbiology Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

4. Investigation & Corrective Actions

- Lead investigations into Out of Specification (OOS) results, microbiological deviations, or contamination issues.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to eliminate contamination risks in processing and packaging lines.
- Conduct hygiene and sanitation audits of production staff and equipment practices.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Life Sciences.
- Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on microbiology lab experience within a wet wipes, cosmetics, personal care, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques, culture media preparation, and microbial identification.
- Solid understanding of wet wipe contamination vulnerabilities (slimy biofilms, water system bugs).
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks like FDA, ISO 22716, or local pharmacopeia standards.
- Soft Skills: Solid analytical thinking, high attention to detail, and excellent technical writing skills for audit readiness.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
