Hiring: Mining Mate – Soapstone Mine

Mandatory Requirement

Previous working experience in a Soapstone/Talc mine or Soapstone industry is compulsory.

Candidates without prior Soapstone/Talc experience will not be considered.

Role & Responsibilities

The Mining Mate will be responsible for day-to-day supervision and smooth operation of the mine, including:

- Supervise daily soapstone mining, excavation, dressing, sorting and loading activities.
- Manage and allocate work to miners, labourers and equipment operators.
- Identify and supervise proper segregation of different soapstone grades/quality during production.
- Minimize contamination of soapstone with waste, soil, quartz and other unwanted material.
- Monitor production targets and maintain daily production records.
- Supervise excavators, tippers, tractors, drilling/jackhammer and other mining equipment.
- Ensure proper benching, excavation and safe working practices at the mine.
- Coordinate removal and dumping of overburden/waste material.
- Maintain discipline, attendance and productivity of mine workers.
- Coordinate with the Mining Engineer/Mines Manager for daily planning and execution.
- Ensure compliance with mine safety procedures and instructions.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, equipment problems or operational issues.
- Assist in maintaining statutory and operational records as required.




- Handle day-to-day site-level coordination with workers and local stakeholders when required.

Candidate Requirements

- Mandatory: Previous experience in a Soapstone/Talc mine or Soapstone industry.
- Practical understanding of soapstone mining, quality identification, sorting and contamination control.
- Experience in open-cast mining operations.
- Mining Mate Certificate/qualification as applicable for the position will be preferred/required depending on statutory deployment.
- Ability to independently supervise labour and mining operations.
- Ability to maintain basic daily production, labour and machinery records.
- Willing to stay/work full-time at the mine site in Jharripara, Kanker, Chhattisgarh.
- Responsible, disciplined and capable of handling field-level operational challenges.

Preferred Candidate

Preference will be given to candidates who have previously worked in established Soapstone/Talc mines in Rajasthan, Uttarakhand or other major soapstone-producing regions and have hands-on experience in quality-based mining and segregation.

Experience

Minimum: 2+ years of relevant mining experience
Mandatory: At least some previous hands-on experience specifically in a Soapstone/Talc mine or Soapstone industry

Salary

Competitive – based on experience, qualification and previous Soapstone/Talc mining exposure.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
