Position Summary

The Van Salesman will be responsible for the daily distribution and sale of Indira Dairy products to retailers, shops, distributors, and other assigned customers. The role involves visiting assigned routes, taking and supplying orders, collecting payments, developing new outlets, maintaining customer relationships, and achieving daily/monthly sales targets.

The candidate should be energetic, reliable, customer-oriented, and comfortable working during early morning hours.

Key Responsibilities1. Sales & Distribution

- Visit assigned retail outlets, shops, distributors, and other customers as per the daily route plan.
- Supply Indira Dairy products to customers as per approved orders and route schedules.
- Generate new customers and increase sales in the assigned territory.
- Ensure proper product handling and delivery.
- Achieve assigned daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.

2. Order Management

- Take orders from existing and prospective customers.
- Ensure accurate recording of product quantities and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with the dispatch/operations team for product availability and route requirements.
- Follow up on pending orders and customer requirements.

3. Payment & Collection

- Collect cash and digital payments from customers against sales.
- Maintain accurate records of daily collections.
- Submit all collections and relevant documents to the Company as per procedure.
- Report any payment discrepancies or outstanding amounts immediately.

4. Market Development

- Identify potential new retail outlets and business opportunities.
- Develop new customer relationships within the assigned route.
- Gather information regarding competitor products, prices, promotions, and market conditions.
- Report market feedback and opportunities to the reporting manager.

5. Customer Relationship Management





- Maintain professional relationships with retailers and distributors.
- Attend to customer queries and complaints promptly.
- Coordinate with the concerned department for resolution of product/service-related complaints.
- Ensure positive customer service and maintain the Company's reputation in the market.

6. Vehicle & Product Handling

- Ensure products are loaded and arranged properly for route distribution.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper handling of products in the delivery vehicle.
- Ensure products are delivered in good condition.
- Report shortages, damages, returns, or other discrepancies immediately.

7. Reporting & Documentation

- Maintain daily sales and order records.
- Submit daily sales, collection, route, and outlet reports.
- Maintain accurate records of returns, damages, and outstanding payments.
- Provide regular market and competitor feedback to the reporting manager.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Minimum qualification: 10th / 12th pass; higher qualification will be an advantage.
- Previous experience in FMCG, dairy, food products, beverage, distribution, or van sales is preferred.
- Good knowledge of local routes in Thiruvananthapuram preferred.
- Basic arithmetic and cash-handling skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet sales targets.
- Customer-oriented and positive attitude.
- Willingness to work early mornings.
- Ability to handle physical activities related to loading/unloading and product delivery.

Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
