We are looking for a skilled UAV Robotics & AI Engineer to develop intelligent autonomous systems for VTOL-Fixed Wing UAVs. The role involves robotics, AI/ML, computer vision, autonomous navigation, sensor integration, and real-time decision-making for UAV applications. The candidate will work closely with the Flight Controls, Embedded Systems, Software, Electronics, and Aerodynamics teams to develop and validate autonomous UAV capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate AI/ML and robotics solutions for autonomous UAV operations.
- Develop autonomous navigation, path planning, obstacle avoidance, and decision-making algorithms.
- Implement computer vision solutions for object detection, tracking, recognition, and situational awareness.
- Integrate and process data from cameras, LiDAR, IMU, GPS, and other UAV sensors.
- Develop sensor fusion algorithms for accurate UAV localization and perception.
- Work with ROS/ROS2, PX4, ArduPilot, and simulation environments for UAV autonomy development.
- Develop and test AI-based solutions for navigation, target detection, tracking, and mission execution.
- Implement and optimize algorithms for real-time onboard processing and edge computing.
- Perform UAV simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), software-in-the-loop (SIL), and flight testing.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize autonomous systems based on simulation and flight-test results.
- Work closely with Embedded, Flight Control,
Electronics, and Software teams for system integration.
- Develop technical documentation, test procedures, and validation reports.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies in UAV autonomy, robotics, AI, computer vision, and machine learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Electronics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in robotics, AI/ML, autonomous systems, computer vision, or UAV development.
- Robust programming skills in Python and C/C++.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML, computer vision, robotics, and autonomous navigation.
- Hands-on experience with ROS/ROS2, PX4, ArduPilot, or similar robotics/UAV platforms.
- Experience with OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar AI/ML frameworks.
- Understanding of sensor fusion, SLAM, localization, path planning, and obstacle avoidance.
- Experience with LiDAR, cameras, GPS, IMU, and other perception sensors.
- Knowledge of UAV communication protocols and real-time systems is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with simulation tools such as Gazebo, AirSim, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and system integration skills.
- Experience in UAV, aerospace, robotics, autonomous vehicles, or defence technology is preferred.
