Role Description The PhD Full Time Research Scholar role at VIT is an in office position based in Tamil Nadu, India, with a stipend provided as per institutional norms. The scholar will conduct original research under the guidance of a faculty supervisor, including literature review, research design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Daily activities include working in laboratories or research centers, participating in seminars and discussions, and collaborating with peers and faculty on ongoing projects. The role involves preparing manuscripts, conference papers, and progress reports, as well as contributing to teaching or lab assistance as assigned.



The scholar is expected to maintain high ethical standards in research, meet academic milestones on time, and actively engage in the scholarly community at VIT.
Qualifications

- Strong research aptitude, including ability to conduct comprehensive literature reviews, formulate research questions, and design appropriate methodologies.
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis techniques relevant to the chosen discipline, including familiarity with statistical or qualitative analysis tools.
- Excellent academic writing and communication skills for preparing theses, journal articles, and conference presentations.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment, with effective time management and project planning skills.
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field from a recognized institution, with a solid academic record; prior research or publication experience is highly desirable.
- Commitment to research ethics, integrity, and responsible conduct of research, including proper data handling and citation practices.
- Willingness to be based on campus in Tamil Nadu and to participate actively in seminars, workshops, and academic events at VIT.
- Comfort with digital tools for research, documentation, and communication; familiarity with reference management software is an added advantage.
