Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based at Drikveda Eye Hospital in Bengaluru. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, binocular vision assessment, and evaluation of ocular health, and will assist in diagnosing and managing a wide range of eye conditions under the guidance of ophthalmologists. Responsibilities include prescribing and fitting spectacles and contact lenses, conducting pre- and post-operative assessments, and supporting specialty clinics such as pediatric, glaucoma, or retina as needed. The role involves maintaining accurate clinical records, ensuring adherence to hygiene and safety protocols, and using diagnostic equipment and technology effectively. The Optometrist will collaborate with the clinical team to provide patient education, build trust through clear communication,



and contribute to a high standard of ethical, patient-first care.

Qualifications

- Formal education in optometry (Bachelor's or Diploma in Optometry) from a recognized institution; relevant clinical experience in a hospital or eye care setting is preferred.
- Strong clinical skills in refraction, contact lens fitting, binocular vision assessment, and basic ocular diagnostics, with the ability to interpret test results accurately.
- Familiarity with ophthalmic equipment and technology, such as autorefractors, slit lamps, keratometers, OCT, and visual field analyzers, and comfort working in a technology-driven environment.
- Excellent patient communication and counseling skills, with the ability to explain diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-operative care in a clear, empathetic, and culturally sensitive manner.
- Commitment to ethical practice, infection control, and clinical safety standards, with strong attention to detail and reliable clinical documentation habits.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, adapt in a fast-paced startup environment, and maintain professionalism during busy outpatient and surgical schedules.
- Willingness to engage in continuous learning, attend trainings, and keep up with advances in optometry, contact lenses, and ophthalmic care.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages (such as Kannada or Hindi) is an advantage; flexible availability for hospital working
