THE ROLE
We are seeking a Marine PMS & Database Specialist with a strong command of PMS workflows and database creation. You will interpret marine and engineering manuals in depth, extract and structure technical content, and ensure data accuracy across PMS platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and configure equipment sheets for PMS databases
- Extract, structure and import maintenance tasks from OEM manuals
- Develop clear, detailed job cards covering dismantling, inspection and assembly
- Map equipment hierarchies within PMS, aligned to SFI Group System coding
- Apply and maintain correct SFI codes at equipment and component level
- Manage import sheets and front-end PMS data loading
- Build and maintain spares-to-equipment linkages with accurate part numbering
- Validate imported data for duplicates, orphan items and hierarchy errors
- Coordinate with vessel and shore teams to resolve data discrepancies
- Support audits through accurate, traceable PMS data
WHAT YOU BRING
- Marine Engineering degree or equivalent maritime qualification
- 2–5 years' experience in PMS data population or marine technical documentation
- Proven ability to read, interpret and simplify engineering and marine manuals
- Working knowledge of SFI Group System coding and equipment hierarchy standards
- Strong English communication and technical writing skills
- Sound understanding of database structuring and equipment hierarchy
- Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency (lookups, data cleaning, large datasets)
- Hands-on experience with one or more PMS platforms (AMOS, BASSnet, Mariapps PAL, Benefit, ShipManager, Sertica) is a strong advantage
- Detail-oriented, disciplined and process-driven
THIS ROLE IS NOT A FIT IF YOU
- Have only basic Excel skills - confident handling of large datasets is essential
- Lack an understanding of equipment hierarchy or coding logic such as SFI
- Need close supervision to complete structured, repetitive technical work
- Are seeking a sea-going or hands-on engine room role - this is a shore-based data and documentation position
- Prefer not to work within strict data standards, naming conventions and quality checks
- Are uncomfortable with accuracy, deadlines and a process-driven culture
