Basic Functions:
Nucor Towers & Structures Inc, a division of Nucor, the United States largest recycler and largest
manufacturer of steel and steel products, is seeking qualified applicants for engineer positions with
senior-level or above expertise at our business unit located in Noida, UP. Specific job responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
- Design steel utility structures, with a primary focus on tubular steel transmission poles.
- Review customer specifications, drawings, and RFQs to support accurate and competitive cost estimates.
- Lead and support designs throughout the entire project lifecycle—from pre-sale conceptual layouts to post-sale final design and manufacturing support.
- Use PLS-Pole for global structure design and proprietary tools for component design.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including sales, detailing, project management, and manufacturing to ensure alignment of technical requirements and deliverables.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives aimed at advancing engineering tools, design processes, and structural efficiency.
- Train and develop junior engineers.
- Build solid, sustainable relationships with teammates and promote knowledge sharing.
- Execute the Nucor Towers & Structures Division strategy.
- Maintain high standards of service through clear, professional, and responsive communication with the teammates working on the projects at downstream processes.

demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and
housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.Tech or B.E. in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant structural, utility, or mechanical engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience performing structural analysis and design of steel structures.
- Strong understanding of engineering mechanics, steel design principles, structural analysis, and connection design.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting schedule commitments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree (M.E. / M.Tech) in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng), Professional Engineer (PE), or equivalent professional registration
- 5+ or more years of experience in the electric utility transmission and distribution industry.
- Experience designing steel tapered tubular poles, transmission structures, substation structures, or related utility infrastructure.
- Advanced experience using PLS-POLE and familiarity with PLS-CADD.
- Knowledge of ASCE, AWS, AISC, ANSI, NESC, CSA, OSHA or other applicable utility structure design standards.
- Experience with structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication, welding, bolted connections, galvanizing, weathering steel, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience managing engineering projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and supporting client-facing technical discussions.
- Experience developing engineering tools, design automation workflows, standardization initiatives, or process improvement programs.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical support within an internal team.
