We are looking for an experienced Search Engineer / Developer with strong expertise in Apache Solr and Lucidworks to design, develop, optimize, and support enterprise search solutions. The candidate should have hands-on experience building scalable search platforms, improving search relevance, indexing large datasets, and integrating search services with enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise search solutions using Apache Solr / SolrCloud and Lucidworks Fusion.
- Configure collections, schemas, field types, analyzers, tokenizers, filters, synonyms, stop words, and search pipelines.
- Develop and optimize indexing and query pipelines.
- Integrate Solr/Lucidworks with backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, or Python.
- Implement full-text search, faceted search, filtering, sorting, autocomplete, suggestions, highlighting, and fuzzy search.
- Improve search relevance and ranking using boosting, query tuning, synonyms, business rules, and relevance testing.
- Handle high-volume data ingestion from databases, APIs, files, and other enterprise data sources.
- Manage and troubleshoot SolrCloud, including collections, shards, replicas, ZooKeeper, replication, and failover.
- Analyze query/indexing performance and optimize response times.
- Monitor search infrastructure and troubleshoot production issues.
- Implement security and access controls for enterprise search.
- Work with business, product,



QA, and architecture teams to translate search requirements into technical solutions.
- Support deployment and operation of search services in Kubernetes/cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Develop automated tests and documentation for search functionality.

Required Skills

- 4+ years of software/search development experience.
- Solid hands-on experience with Apache Solr / SolrCloud.
- Experience with Lucidworks Fusion is highly desirable.

- Experience with Java and Spring Boot or Python.
- REST API integration experience.

- Experience with Linux, Git, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience debugging indexing, query, performance, and relevance issues.

Good to Have

- Elasticsearch/OpenSearch experience.
- Semantic/vector search experience.
- Experience with embeddings, LLMs, RAG, and hybrid search.
- Knowledge of BM25, vector similarity, reranking, and hybrid keyword + semantic search.
- Experience integrating search with GenAI applications.
- Cloud experience with AWS/Azure/GCP.
