Job Title: Lead Thermal Applications & Control Systems Engineer- Solutioning Specialist
Role Summary:
Looking for a dedicated and highly capable engineer to serve as a primary anchor point. This role involves providing critical "heavy lift solutioning" for complex thermal applications, working closely with client’s lead engineer, and engaging directly with customers. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in thermal and fluid dynamics, control systems, and predictive modeling, coupled with a curious mindset and the ability to challenge conventional designs.
Experience Level: Likely a mid-to-senior level engineer, potentially with 5+ years of experience, capable of handling significant technical challenges.
Location: Pune
Key Responsibilities:
- Advanced Solutioning: Lead and contribute significantly to the "heavy lift solutioning" for complex thermal applications, supporting internal engineering team.
- Thermal & Fluid Dynamics Analysis: Analyze and predict the interaction of heaters within various systems, focusing on fluid dynamics and thermal dynamics to optimize performance and outcomes.
- System Architecture Design: Contribute to the architectural design of systems, ensuring optimal integration and performance of client’s heating technology.
- Control System Expertise: Understand and recommend appropriate controller types (e.g., PID vs. contactor) and configurations to extend heater life and improve system efficiency. This includes knowledge of electrical engineering aspects, hardware, and embedded software.
- Predictive Maintenance: Develop and implement strategies for predictive maintenance of heaters, enabling customers to anticipate and plan for replacements.
- Customer Engagement & Design Challenge: Participate in customer conversations, understand their specific heating requirements, and proactively question existing design assumptions to propose more effective and productive solutions (e.g., re-thinking immersion heaters for easier maintenance).
- Process Standardization: Identify opportunities to standardize and "playbook" repeatable engineering tasks, contributing to efficiency gains and allowing for scalability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Client’s internal team to leverage collective expertise and ensure project success.
- Problem Solving: Tackle both highly challenging, transformational problems and more routine, yet critical, engineering tasks with precision and a focus on outcomes.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Engineering Background: Strong background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with a specific focus on thermal applications.
- Thermal & Fluid Dynamics: Proven expertise in thermodynamic calculations, fluid dynamics, and thermal analysis.
- Control Systems: In-depth knowledge of control system architecture, including various controller types (e.g., PID) and their impact on system performance and heater longevity. Understanding of embedded software is a plus.
- Simulation & Prediction: Experience with tools and methodologies for predicting and simulating system behavior.
- Curiosity & Critical Thinking: A highly curious mindset with the ability to question existing designs and assumptions, offering alternative perspectives that lead to significant improvements.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
