Embedded Software & Tools Lead India Required Travel: 0 - 30% Job Description: The Software Engineering group designs, implements and tests embedded software & associated tools for embedded controls systems across Allison business units. The Senior Manager, Embedded Software & Tools role manages several groups of software developers, sets technical & strategic direction and manages projects related to software, tools, process, and other capability across the enterprise and specific to business units. This role is focused on building & managing a capability in India which interfaces closely with several global teams, including teams based in the US, Italy, and Belgium. As this role is part of our India leadership group, one key aspect of the role is to support executing the achievement of departmental engineering strategies and objectives by leading local technical teams and driving results through engagement, accountability, goal setting, and coaching and mentoring talent. **Key Responsibilties:** + Build, set vision and manage a team of managers & software developers who design, develop, test and document embedded control system software and associated engineering tools for commercial duty mobility applications. + Work with cross-functional engineering teams across the Allison Transmission and Allison Off-highway business units to develop existing and new products + Establish autonomous core software centers of expertise & leadership for Allison India. + Shall be flexible to work to have overlap with Eastern Standard Time for few hours as and when needed. + Describe & present work results to peers and managers as needed + Archive work products to document process compliance and for future maintenance needs + Deploy and help maintain software development, software test, and coding best practices with Software Quality Assurance group which are applicable globally to controls software organizations working on any Allison products + Conduct reviews, audits, tests and other SQA activities to ensure compliance with Allison software development standards & policies + Responsible for recruiting, hiring, onboarding,

or equivalent experience + Strong oral and written business communication skills in written & spoken English + Ability to organize & manage multiple software development & testing projects simultaneously + Demonstrated performance managing several first-line managers of software engineers. + Technical capabilities to set & evolve architectural, environment, tool, language, and process capabilities across embedded, connected, web, and PC-based software products **Experience:** + 25+ years of relevant engineering experience + 5+ years control systems software engineering experience working in US or EU as part of a lean, highly effective team + 5+ years managing an India based controls system software team in a global, multinational corporation + 10+ years of engineering management experience in the automotive or similar regulated, safety-critical industry + Project/Program manager role in multiple multi-disciplinary projects + Experience with corporate budget planning & forecasting processes & tools + Demonstrated history of teamwork and cross-functional leadership + Experience working with global teams of engineers + Experience with software version control & change management + Experience with software quality processes & tools, such as CMMI, ASPICE, DevSecOps **Preferred:** + Master's degree Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science + Exposure to India's automotive controls, validation, and/or supply chain ecosystemExperience with up-to-date global software development innovations like SIL/MIL, automation, unit testing, CI/CD, and static analysis Allison Transmission is an equal opportunity employer.
