Diagnosis and assessment:
- A psychiatrist must be able to diagnose and assess mental health disorders by evaluating patients symptoms, medical history, and other factors that may be contributing to their mental illness
Treatment planning:
- After diagnosis, a psychiatrist must develop a personalized treatment plan for the patient
- This may include prescribing medication, therapy, and other interventions
Medication management:
- Psychiatrists are licensed to prescribe medication for mental health disorders
- They must monitor the patients response to medication and adjust dosages as needed
