Job Summary / Objective
The Procurement Operations Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process for tools, equipment, and direct materials in a semiconductor fabrication environment. The role ensures timely purchase order execution, effective vendor coordination, and adherence to internal and external compliance requirements. This position also drives process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and stakeholder satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Process Management
- Manage the complete procure-to-pay (P2P) cycle for tools, equipment, and materials.
- Ensure timely and accurate creation of purchase orders (POs) in alignment with business and project requirements.
- Collaborate with vendors to address MRP (Material Requirements Planning) changes and mitigate risks to material availability.
- Vendor & Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate with vendors and logistics partners to ensure smooth and timely delivery of materials.
- Follow up on payment schedules to ensure timely fund release to vendors.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent performance and quality.
- Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with internal departments including user teams, finance, and logistics to align procurement activities with operational goals.
- Participate in review meetings for high-value procurement projects to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders to address procurement-related issues and resolutions.
- Process & System Improvements
- Identify and drive improvements in procurement processes and systems to enhance operational efficiency.
- Support implementation of digital tools and best practices to streamline procurement operations.
- Contribute to achieving high levels of internal customer satisfaction through responsive and effective procurement management.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date procurement records and documentation.
- Ensure full compliance with internal policies, corporate governance, and external audit requirements.
- Manage vendor master data accuracy and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline) with specialization in tool, equipment, or direct materials procurement.
- Preferably experienced in the semiconductor or high-technology manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in SAP and related procurement systems.
- Solid communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
Experience Requirements
- 10 to 15 years of experience in procurement operations, preferably in a semiconductor or precision manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record in managing high-value procurement, supplier management, and process improvement initiatives.
