Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Performance Tuning Specialist to join our team and drive optimization across our SQL database environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in SQL database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting, with a passion for ensuring databases operate at peak efficiency. This role is critical to our business operations, as our systems rely heavily on high-performing, scalable, and reliable databases.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze SQL database performance and identify areas for optimization and improvementDesign and implement strategies to enhance database performance, scalability, and efficiencyMonitor database health and performance, proactively addressing potential issuesTroubleshoot and resolve complex SQL performance bottlenecks and database issuesCollaborate with developers, DBAs,



and system administrators to optimize queries and system performanceParticipate in database design and development to ensure performance optimization from inceptionConduct regular performance testing and provide actionable recommendationsAssist in capacity planning and ensure database scalability for future business growthImplement and promote best practices, standards, and governance for database performanceMaintain detailed documentation for performance tuning processes and proceduresProvide technical guidance and mentoring to team members on SQL performance tuningStay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in database performance optimization

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldMinimum 7 years of experience in SQL database administration and performance tuningStrong expertise in:SQL query optimizationIndexing strategiesExecution plansDatabase design principlesHands-on experience with database monitoring and performance tuning toolsSolid understanding of database security, data integrity, and best practicesProven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database performance issuesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skillsExcellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilitiesAbility to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment
