Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Lead Engineer – Switchgear Product Engineering & PLM Data Transformation to lead a major engineering data transformation program for medium/high-voltage switchgear products.

The role will be responsible for leading the technical team in reviewing and improving existing CAD models, engineering drawings, assemblies, BOMs, fasteners and product structures, and preparing the engineering data for migration into a PLM environment.

This is not a conventional CAD management role. The person must have strong switchgear/product engineering knowledge and be capable of making engineering decisions around product architecture, design standardization, configurability, manufacturability and reuse.

The Lead Engineer will work closely with the customer’s engineering team and will lead a small team of senior/junior engineers responsible for the detailed execution.





Key Responsibilities

Switchgear Product Engineering
Understand switchgear product architecture, components, assemblies and manufacturing requirements.
Review existing switchgear products and identify engineering gaps, inconsistencies and opportunities for standardization.
Provide engineering judgment on part design, interfaces, mounting arrangements and assembly structures.
Review whether drawings contain sufficient information for manufacturing by a qualified supplier.
Support resolution of complex engineering and design issues.
CAD & Drawing Engineering
Lead the technical review of Autodesk Inventor CAD models and engineering drawings.
Establish and enforce consistent CAD modeling practices.
Review dimensions, GD&T;, materials, finishes, tolerances and manufacturing definitions.
Identify incorrect, incomplete or duplicate engineering data.
Define rules for modeling, drafting and engineering doc
