Assist the Lab Technician in collecting, labeling, and processing patient samples, ensuring all protocols for sample handling and storage are strictly followed. Prepare and maintain the necessary supplies for laboratory tests, including reagents, consumables, and equipment. Ensure all laboratory equipment is clean, well-maintained, and functional before field operations begin each day. Assist with sample preparation for diagnostic testing using NAAT technology and other required procedures. Maintain detailed logs and records of samples, tests conducted, and results in both hard copy and electronic formats. Ensure proper disposal of biohazardous waste in compliance with Biomedical Waste (BMW) guidelines.
Support the Lab Technician in managing laboratory data entry into the Laboratory Management Information System (LMIS) and ensure accurate report generation. Assist in managing consumable inventory and restocking as needed to maintain a “zero stock out” situation. Coordinate with field staff, including ASHAs and ANMs, to ensure smooth operations and outreach to target populations. Help with patient education activities, ensuring they understand the testing process and the importance of adhering to tuberculosis treatment.
