Demand & Material Requirement Analysis

- Analyze the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and sales forecasts to calculate net raw material requirements using MRP logic.
- Review and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs) specific to gasket types to ensure the correct materials (e.g., specific durometer rubber, gauge of metal) are planned for.
- Continuously monitor planning parameters (lead times, safety stock, reorder points, lot sizes) in the ERP/MRP system and recommend adjustments based on consumption trends and production changes.

Inventory Planning & Optimization

- Maintain optimal inventory levels for all raw materials (elastomers, metals, composites) and finished gaskets to meet production targets while minimizing carrying costs.
- Identify and manage slow-moving, excess, or obsolete materials, providing reports to management and recommending action plans for disposition.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure material accuracy through cycle counting and investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies.

Production Support & Scheduling Interface

- Release and manage production work orders to the shop floor based on material availability and production priorities.




- Monitor real-time material availability against the production schedule; proactively identify potential material shortages that could halt production runs.
- Collaborate with Production Schedulers to align material release dates with machine capacity and changeover requirements.

Cross-Functional Communication

- Communicate material status, potential delays, and shortage risks to the Production and Customer Service teams.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to quarantine and plan for the replacement of non-conforming raw materials identified during receiving or production.
- Support Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) by ensuring old materials are depleted and new materials are available according to the phase-in/phase-out schedule.

Data Integrity & Reporting

- Generate and analyze inventory reports (e.g., inventory turnover, days of supply, stockout frequency).
- Ensure accuracy of inventory data and item master records within the ERP system.
