At Rocket India, we are seeking a seasoned Progress 4GL / OpenEdge ABL Developer to lead the design, development, and modernization of enterprise applications that support scalable, high-performance business solutions. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in Progress OpenEdge ABL, solid architectural thinking, and the ability to collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to deliver reliable, future-ready applications.
About the Role
- Lead end-to-end application development usingProgress 4GL / OpenEdge ABL, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and performance-driven.
- Define technical architecture and design approaches for enterprise applications, with a focus on stability, reliability, and long-term sustainability.
- Drive modernization and enhancement of legacy systems through refactoring, optimization, and integration-focused improvements.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, product teams, engineers, and QA partners to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Design and support system integrations using APIs,



web services, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Apply expertise in application design, database management, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and production-readiness improvements.
- Conduct code reviews, enforce engineering best practices, and maintain high standards for code quality, documentation, and delivery.
- Mentor team members, provide technical guidance, and promote knowledge-sharing across the team.
- Support Agile delivery practices, including sprint planning, estimation, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
