Assistant Manager – NPD

Industry: Fabrication / Heavy Fabrication Manufacturing

New Product Design & Development
Lead end-to-end design and development of current fabricated and heavy-fabricated products, including concept development, 2D/3D modelling, detailing, and engineering drawings using AutoCAD/SolidWorks.

Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
Develop fabrication-friendly designs considering laser cutting, bending, welding, machining, assembly, and material utilization, ensuring the product is technically and commercially feasible for manufacturing.

Prototype & New Product Introduction
Drive prototype development, trial builds, design validation, and NPI activities, coordinating with Production, Engineering, and other relevant teams to ensure successful product launch.

Engineering & Design Improvement




Analyse customer drawings/specifications and develop suitable engineering solutions. Lead design modifications, value engineering, cost reduction, and product improvement initiatives for existing and new products.

Team & Project Coordination
Lead the NPD design team and manage development projects from concept to production, ensuring timelines, technical requirements, drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation are completed as per project requirements.

Preferred: Strong experience in sheet metal/fabrication/heavy fabrication, welding structures, JCB/automotive components, industrial equipment, or similar manufacturing products. Experience in customer drawing interpretation, GD&T;, AutoCAD/SolidWorks
