Qualifications and Desired Skills
- Master s (with 8-12 years experience), or Ph.D (with 5-10 years experience) in Engineering, with a strong research mindset and adept in documentation of work
- CT Gantry Mechanical Architecture Design, Hardware and System Integration, and System Reliability skills
- Knowledge of working principles and safety with X-ray Systems is a must
- Experience with CT Systems design with full knowledge of hardware engineering, end-to-end know-how of design principles with impact on final systems performance and image quality
- Proficiency in mechanical design tools for CAD and simulations.
- Strong working knowledge of generating mechanical designs of gantry for given requirements.
- Positive working know-how of thermal simulations and analysis
- Strong experimental knowledge of systems level testing and design verification including reliability, performance and vibration analysis
- Experience of working on suspended mass and high tonnage rotating systems with safety precautions.
- Sound knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes,
including design translation to rapid prototyping including additive and subtractive manufacturing techniques
- Ability to come up with design tolerances suitable to the requirements and manufacturing process limitations
- Ability to closely work with suppliers/fabricators to ensure the design translation to prototype meets requirements at the required quality
- Proficient in using measurement equipment to conduct experimental data gathering on mechanical design parameters from physical hardware systems
- Need to have the mindset to see beyond mechanical designs from an overall systems engineering perspective
- Knowledge of designing jigs, fixturesand gauges to ensure ease of assembly, alignment, calibration and servicing
- In depth knowledge on different drive systems via Link, Chain, Gear, screw, cam etc. and integration of electro-mechanical systems / assemblies
- Well conversant on calculation and selection
