Industrial Tailor / Sewing Machine Operator

Job Purpose:
To stitch garment components accurately using industrial machines as per approved design, measurement and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Production work
- Stitch garments (shirts, pants, uniforms, sportswear)
- Operate industrial machines:
- Single needle machine
- Overlock machine
- Flatlock (sportswear preferred)
- Follow measurement sheets and sample garments
- Maintain stitching quality and finishing

Quality
- Check stitching strength and alignment
- Avoid defects (open seams, uneven stitching)
- Inform Master Tailor about issues

Productivity
- Meet daily production targets
- Reduce fabric wastage
- Maintain workplace discipline

Machine care
- Basic cleaning and oiling of machine
- Report breakdowns

Skills required:
- Minimum 1-3 years stitching experience
- Knowledge of garment construction
- Experience in uniforms preferred
- Sportswear stitching advantage

Reports to Master Tailor / Production Supervisor

Master Tailor / Production Master





Job Purpose:
To supervise stitching operations, ensure correct garment construction, maintain quality standards and guide tailors.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical
- Prepare samples from design or reference
- Understand garment construction
- Guide operators on stitching sequence
- Handle pattern corrections

Supervision
- Allocate work to tailors
- Monitor production progress
- Train junior operators
- Solve stitching problems

Quality control
- Check samples before production
- Ensure size accuracy
- Maintain finishing standards
- Approve first piece production

Production management
- Achieve daily targets
- Reduce rework
- Improve workflow efficiency

Coordination
- Work with cutting section
- Work with finishing team
- Coordinate with management

Skills required:
- 5-10 years garment experience
- Solid knowledge of:
- Men's garments
- Women's garments
- School uniforms
- Sportswear preferred
