A Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) Site Supervisor acts as the bridge between the production plant and the construction site. This role is high-pressure and requires a balance of technical knowledge (how concrete behaves) and logistics (getting it there before it hardens).
Job Overview
The RMC Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the delivery, pouring, and quality control of ready-mix concrete at various project locations. You will ensure that the right mix arrives at the right time and is placed according to engineering specifications while maintaining strict safety standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Site Logistics & Coordination
- Scheduling: Coordinate with the batching plant and dispatchers to ensure a steady stream of trucks.
- Site Readiness: Inspect the site before delivery to ensure access roads, pump locations, and formwork are ready to receive concrete.
- Truck Management: Direct the movement of transit mixers on-site to minimize wait times and prevent "cold joints" (where new concrete fails to bond with old).
2. Quality Control & Technical Oversight
- Fresh Concrete Testing: Conduct or supervise on-site tests, including slump tests, temperature checks, and air content monitoring.
- Sample Collection: Ensure test cubes or cylinders are cast correctly for laboratory strength testing (usually 7-day and 28-day breaks).
- Mix Verification: Confirm that the delivery ticket matches the project's specified mix design (e.g., Water-Cement ratio, admixture levels).
3. Team Leadership & Safety
- Supervision: Lead a team of pump operators, drivers, and laborers.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety standards, ensuring all personnel use proper PPE and follow wash-out procedures.
- Problem Solving: Quickly address issues like concrete setting too quick, pump blockages, or equipment breakdowns.
Pay: ₹16,500.00 - ₹23,000.00 per month
