IDEAS ENGINEERING WORKS, A leading water treatment plant manufacturing company at Sonarpur, Kolkata

Job Profile: Draughtsman

Experience: 2-5 years.

Education : Diploma/Degree in Engineering, ITI Preferred

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD for:
Water Treatment Plants (WTP)

Sewage Treatment Plants (STP)

Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP)

Develop and modify:
General Arrangement (GA) drawings

Piping layouts and P&ID; drawings

Equipment layout drawings

Civil foundation drawings

Sectional and detailed drawings

Coordinate with process, mechanical, and civil engineers to incorporate design inputs.

Prepare bill of materials (BOM) based on drawings.

Ensure drawings comply with project specifications and industry standards.

Revise drawings as per site feedback and consultant comments.

Maintain drawing records, revisions, and documentation control.

Assist project team during execution phase with as-built drawings.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Diploma / ITI / Certification in Drafting, Mechanical, Civil,



or related field.

Minimum 2-5 years of experience in WTP / STP / ETP drafting.

Solid working knowledge of AutoCAD (2D).

Understanding of:
Water & wastewater treatment processes

Piping systems and layout planning

Pumps, blowers, tanks, clarifiers, filters, etc.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and P&IDs.;

Knowledge of drafting standards and dimensioning practices.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills (Optional):
Experience with 3D drafting (AutoCAD 3D / Plant 3D).

Knowledge of plumbing and hydraulic calculations basics.

Site experience in water/wastewater projects.

Education: A degree or diploma in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or other modeling software.
