Job Summary
- A CNC Operator/Setter is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The role involves ensuring product quality, optimizing machine performance, and maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machines (lathe, milling, or machining centers) as per job requirements:
- Load tools, offsets, and programs into the machine:
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical instructions:
- Operate CNC machines to produce components within specified tolerances:
- Perform first-off inspection and in-process quality checks using measuring instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.):
- Make minor program edits or offset adjustments to maintain accuracy:
- Monitor machine operations and troubleshoot basic issues:
- Ensure proper tool selection, tool life monitoring, and replacement:
- Maintain cleanliness and basic preventive maintenance of machines:
- Follow safety standards and company procedures
Skills & Requirements
- Knowledge of CNC machine operations (Turning/Milling):
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings:
- Familiarity with G-code and M-code basics:
- Hands-on experience with measuring instruments:
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills:
- Understanding of tolerances, fits, and surface finishes:
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
Educational Qualification
- SSLC / ITI / Diploma
Experience
- Fresher to 5+ years (depending on role level: Operator / Setter / Programmer)
