Role Overview:
We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking an Aerodynamics Expert to work on a contract basis. The role is remote and listed on the Micro1 platform. You will provide specialized aerospace engineering and aerodynamic expertise, analyzing subsonic/supersonic flow fields, aerodynamic coefficients, and boundary layer behaviors for advanced engineering models and benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct analytical and computational aerodynamics evaluations across diverse vehicle configurations and flight regimes.
• Compute lift, drag, pitching moments, and stability derivatives using aerodynamic theory and numerical solvers.
• Review and validate aerodynamic simulations, wind tunnel correlation studies, and airfoil surface pressure distributions.
• Formulate challenging aerodynamic problem specifications, test cases, and gold-standard technical solutions.
• Author clear technical reports detailing flow phenomena, shock structures,
and performance optimizations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Master’s degree or PhD in Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering with specialized focus on Aerodynamics.
• Strong theoretical grasp of fluid dynamics, boundary layers, potential flow, compressible aerodynamics, and CFD.
• Hands-on experience with aerodynamic analysis tools (OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent, XFOIL, or AVL).
• Proven track record of rigorous technical analysis, research documentation, or industrial aerodynamic design.
• Excellent written English skills for conveying intricate fluid dynamics concepts clearly.
