As a GitHub Administrator, you will own the day-to-day administration and governance of the GitHub workplace. You will ensure repositories, teams, users, access, and workflows are well managed and follow established standards.

Role Overview

Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Managing GitHub organizations, repositories, teams, users, and permissions.
- Creating, configuring, archiving, and maintaining repositories.
- Managing team structures, membership, and repository access.
- Conducting regular access, repository, and team audits.
- Managing repository standards including branch protection, CODEOWNERS, and templates.
- Supporting users with Git, pull requests, branching, and GitHub workflows.
- Providing basic support for GitHub Actions and troubleshooting common issues.
- Supporting teams adopting Content-as-Code / Markdown-based workflows.
- Creating documentation, onboarding material, and conducting GitHub office hours.




- Identifying opportunities to improve governance, simplify processes, and automate repetitive tasks.

Required Skills
- Hands-on experience with GitHub administration.
- Good understanding of Git and GitHub workflows.
- Experience managing repositories, teams, users, and permissions.
- Understanding of GitHub Actions and repository governance.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Nice to Have
- GitHub Enterprise experience.
- GitHub CLI/API knowledge.
- Basic scripting or automation experience.
- Experience with Content-as-Code or Documentation-as-Code.
