About the Team and the Role
The Dash team at Ather is responsible for building robust software operations and internal tools that power our vehicle ecosystems.
This role is for a Senior Engineer who will evaluate and implement new technologies, design modularized code, and build critical diagnostic applications in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where boundaries are constantly expanding.
Responsibilities
- Develop and design modularized code with a solid emphasis on efficiency and re-usability.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to build and optimize diagnostic tools.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and make decisive choices on architectural solutions.
- Create rapid proof-of-concepts (POCs) for new features and innovative software solutions.
- Navigate and drive progress in fluid environments where project boundaries are not rigidly defined.




- Resolve technical blockers effectively through deep engineering expertise and alignment negotiation.

Experience and Qualifications
- Software engineering degree
- 6 to 9 years of experience as a Vehicle Diagnostic Applications Engineer

Must Have Competencies
- Extensive hands-on experience working with UDS and CAN protocols for vehicle diagnostics.
- Deep expertise in writing and maintaining efficient code using Python or Javascript, with a strong preference for Python.
- Demonstrated capability in implementing applications that utilize concurrency and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
- Strong proficiency in designing and integrating systems using Websockets and REST APIs.

Good to have Competencies
- Practical experience with database management systems, particularly working with MySQL or MongoDB.
- Working knowledge of shell scripting for process automation and system-level tasks.
