Key Responsibilities
- Provide L1 support and administration for Linux/Unix servers.
- Monitor server availability, CPU, memory, disk utilization, processes, and system health.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of Linux OS, services, applications, and connectivity issues.
- Handle user and group administration, including creation, modification, and access management.
- Manage file systems, permissions, ownership, mounts, and disk space.
- Start, stop, restart, and monitor Linux services.
- Review and analyze system/application logs for initial issue identification.
- Perform basic troubleshooting related to SSH, DNS, FTP/SFTP, networking, and connectivity.
- Monitor scheduled jobs and troubleshoot Cron jobs.
- Support server patching, package installation,



and routine maintenance activities.
- Execute standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operational checklists.
- Create and update incident/service requests in the ticketing system.
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues to L2/L3 teams with proper troubleshooting details.
- Follow ITIL processes for Incident, Request, Change, and Problem Management.
- Maintain operational documentation, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge-base articles.
- Participate in shift-based support and rotational on-call activities, if required.
