Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct microbiological analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished dairy products (milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, etc.).
- Monitor environmental hygiene, water quality, and sanitation effectiveness within the production facility.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards such as FSSAI, ISO, and HACCP.
- Maintain accurate records of microbiological tests and prepare reports for audits and internal review.
- Investigate contamination issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Support new product development by evaluating microbial stability and shelf-life.
- Ensure proper sterilization and calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Train production staff on hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices.
- Participate in internal and external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Robust knowledge of dairy microbiology and food safety standards
- Familiarity with microbiological testing methods (TPC, coliform, yeast & mold, pathogens)
- Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Good documentation and reporting skills
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Food Technology, Dairy Technology, or related field
Preferred Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience in dairy, food processing, or FMCG industry
- Hands-on experience in microbiological lab testing and quality control
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and audits
- Ability to work in shifts if required
- Familiarity with ERP/LIMS systems is an advantage
