Heliyon Associate Scientific Editor

Your new role:
Are you passionate about sharing accurate and valuable research results for the benefit of science, society, and the authors? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you as an Associate Scientific Editor focusing on our medical science sections in
_Heliyon, _an open access journal (part of Cell Press). We are looking for a scientist with a broad academic interest in medical science who is keen on supporting scientists to publish their research in effective ways. This job offers a unique opportunity to start your editorial career with an exciting journal, which you can help shape and develop to ensure its scientific and commercial success.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Actively managing the peer review and publication process of assigned manuscripts in a growing open access journal
- Actively working with the _Heliyon_ team to develop the journal’s processes and content
- Building effective working relationships with colleagues across Cell Press and Elsevier




- You will also have the opportunity to be a stakeholder in innovative Cell Press and Elsevier initiatives that shape the future of science communication.
- This is a full-time editorial position based in our Chennai office.
- In future, this position may require travel to conferences to engage with researchers.

What you should bring:
- A relevant doctoral degree in the medical science.
- Deep knowledge and research experience in infectious diseases/global health/public health/immunology/nutrition, and a willingness to learn about and work on the other sections like cancer research, medicine, microbiology, oncology, pharmaceutical science, pharmacology, sports medicine/rehabilitation, and toxicology. Knowledge/experience in medical ethics/study design/trial registration will be an added advantage.
