Role Overview
This role is for someone who enjoys bringing order to messy, fast-moving engineering teams.
You will join an workplace with high talent, high autonomy, and very little formal structure. There are no polished processes waiting for you. Your job is to observe, understand how work really flows, and slowly introduce just enough structure to make delivery predictable without slowing the team down.
This is not a role for people who want to impose frameworks quickly.
It is for people who earn trust first, choose their battles carefully, and improve systems through small, practical steps.
If you enjoy ambiguity, uncomfortable conversations, and making tradeoffs under pressure, you’ll do well here.
What You’ll Actually Do
- Spend your first weeks understanding how engineers plan, communicate, and ship today.
- Identify where work gets stuck, duplicated, or misunderstood.
- Introduce lightweight planning and tracking that engineers actually want to use.
- Break large initiatives into executable pieces with clear ownership.
- Decide what not to track and what not to over-process.
- Create visibility for leadership without increasing reporting burden.
- Reduce the amount of “thinking and coordination” engineers have to do every day.
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years running real projects in engineering-heavy teams.
- Comfort operating without authority and earning buy-in through clarity.
- Strong prioritization: you know what matters now vs later.
- Ability to simplify, not over-engineer, processes.
- Calm under ambiguity. You don’t panic when things are unclear.
- You value progress over perfection.
What Success Looks Like
- Engineers know what matters each week without asking.
- Fewer last-minute surprises.
- Less coordination chatter.
- Delivery becomes predictable without becoming bureaucratic.
