1. JOB PURPOSE:

To prepare accurate, detailed, and compliant technical drawings, models, and as-built documentation for infrastructure and landscaping works under Sobha PMC. The Draughtsman ensures that all designs align with project requirements, authority standards, and Sobhas internal quality and IMS procedures, supporting productive coordination between design, site, and authority teams.

This role covers the preparation, coordination, and maintenance of all design and drafting deliverables for infrastructure, utilities, landscaping, and road works across Sobha PMC projects. It involves collaboration with design consultants, engineers, and authorities to produce high-quality drawings throughout all project stagesfrom concept and detailed design to shop and as-built documentation.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Drawing Preparation & Design Development:

- Build models, sketches, drawings, and blueprints using 2D and 3D design software (AutoCAD / Civil 3D).
- Liaise with REs and engineers to gather design and structural requirements.
- Prepare and update detailed CAD drawings, plans, sections, and layouts as per project specifications.
- Produce precise technical drawings for infrastructure projects (utilities, roads, drainage, irrigation, street lighting, telecom).
- Prepare road grading plans, cut/fill cross-sections, and corridor designs, including roundabouts and junctions, using Civil 3D.
- Identify potential operational issues and recommend design adjustments for improved constructability and functionality.
- Ensure final designs comply with industry standards, authority regulations, and company guidelines.
- Verify that drawings reflect the engineers intent and approved IFC documentation.
- Prepare and review rough sketches, and coordinate updates with the engineering team.
- Maintain an organized drawing register, revision history, and documentation records within the EDMS (Sobha Apps Center).

1. Authority & Coordination:

- Prepare, review, and format drawings for authority submissions (DM, RTA, DEWA, Etisalat, DU, DUSUP,



etc.).
- Ensure alignment of all drawings with the latest authority standards and feedback.
- Incorporate consultant/authority comments promptly and accurately.
- Support the design team during NOC submissions and approval workflows.

1. Quality & Compliance

- Adhere to Sobha PMC’s QMS and IMS procedures for drawing control, review, and documentation.
- Conduct self-checks before submission to ensure accuracy in scaling, dimensions, and annotations.
- Follow approved title blocks, layering conventions, and drawing numbering systems.
- Ensure zero non-compliances during internal/external audits related to documentation or authority submissions.

1. Continuous Improvement & TQM :

- Participate actively in Sobha TQM initiatives and contribute ideas for drafting process improvement.
- Support implementation of digital transformation and Lean Six Sigma practices in drawing workflows.
- Assist in developing standardized templates and libraries for repetitive infrastructure elements.

3. COMMUNICATION & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Engineering/ Design Heads, ARE, Client, PMC team, HR, IT team, Site Team, Sub/ Independent Consultants and Contractors.

4. FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:

- Reports To: Design Engineer / Manager – Design & Coordination
- Coordinates With: Site Engineers, Consultants, Document Control, and Authority Representatives
- Interfaces With: Planning, QA/QC, Commercial, and IMS Teams

5. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in civil engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related field.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE





3 to 6 plus years of experience in Infrastructure construction project supervision and management.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar role with a PMC.

- AutoCAD (advanced), Civil 3D (roads & grading), MS Office, EDMS (Sobha Apps Center)
