Designation: Senior Consultant – Adult Haemato-Oncology & BMT Department: Adult Haemato-Oncology / Clinical Haematology & BMT

Reports to: Head of Department

Employment: Full time / Permanent

Location: Mazumdar Shaw Medical Centre.

Key Clinical Responsibilities

- Diagnose and manage adult patients with:
- Acute myeloid and lymphoblastic leukaemias
- Lymphomas
- Multiple myeloma and plasma-cell disorders
- Myelodysplastic and myeloproliferative neoplasms
- Aplastic anaemia and bone-marrow failure syndromes
- Other malignant and complex haematological disorders

- Provide comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, day-care and emergency haemato-oncology services.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating chemotherapy,



immunotherapy, targeted therapy and other contemporary treatment modalities.
- Perform and/or supervise bone marrow aspiration and trephine biopsy, lumbar puncture and intrathecal chemotherapy where appropriate.
- Interpret and integrate peripheral blood, bone marrow, flow cytometry, cytogenetic and molecular diagnostic findings.
- Provide specialist transfusion and supportive-care guidance in collaboration with Transfusion Medicine.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumour boards and disease-specific clinical meeting
