Role Overview

As Senior Barista, you will lead the coffee bar operations, uphold beverage standards, and mentor junior baristas. You will be the custodian of coffee quality, ensuring every cup reflects the café’s commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Coffee & Beverage Quality

- Prepare espresso-based and specialty beverages to café standards.
- Dial in espresso and adjust grind settings throughout the day.
- Demonstrate expertise in extraction, dose, yield, brew time, and flavour balance.
- Steam and texture milk correctly for all beverages and alternatives.
- Maintain high standards of presentation and latte art.
- Confidently recommend coffees and brewing methods to guests.

Bar Operations
- Lead the coffee bar during service, ensuring smooth workflow.
- Set up and close the bar with proper procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation of the coffee station.
- Monitor and troubleshoot espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment.
- Ensure consistent recipes, portion sizes, and preparation standards.

Team Leadership & Training
- Train and mentor junior baristas on coffee preparation and service.
- Lead by example, fostering a positive and respectful team culture.
- Conduct regular quality checks and provide constructive feedback.
- Support the Café Manager/Owner in maintaining service excellence.

Guest Experience




- Welcome guests warmly and create a relaxed café atmosphere.
- Understand customer preferences and make thoughtful recommendations.
- Handle feedback professionally and resolve issues with care.
- Contribute to the café’s hospitality culture and personality.

Inventory & Cost Control
- Monitor coffee, milk, syrups, teas, and beverage stock.
- Assist with daily counts and communicate replenishment needs.
- Minimise wastage and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
- Maintain awareness of beverage costs and portion control.

Candidate Profile

- 3+ years barista experience (specialty coffee preferred).
- Strong knowledge of espresso preparation and manual brewing methods.
- Skilled in milk steaming and latte art.
- Confident with commercial espresso machines and grinders.
- Experience training or supervising junior baristas.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused, calm, and quality-driven under pressure.
- Willingness to work weekends and café shifts.
- Bengaluru-based candidates preferred.
