Job Summary The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the company's financial records, cost accounting, compliance, and reporting functions specific to a pharmaceutical/IV fluid manufacturing environment. The role requires strong expertise in manufacturing cost accounting, inventory valuation, regulatory compliance (GST, taxation, pharma-specific statutory requirements), and financial reporting, while supporting month-end/year-end closing and audits.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain accurate books of accounts as per applicable accounting standards (Ind AS/IFRS as relevant)
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L;, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Ensure timely closing of books and reconciliation of ledgers
- Prepare MIS reports for management decision-making
Cost & Manufacturing Accounting
- Monitor and analyze production costs, raw material consumption, and batch costing for IV fluids
- Conduct standard costing, variance analysis (material, labor, overhead)
- Track cost of goods manufactured (COGM) and cost of goods sold (COGS)
- Coordinate with production/plant teams for inventory valuation, wastage analysis, and yield reporting
- Work with the costing team on BOM (Bill of Materials) accuracy
Inventory & Fixed Assets
- Oversee raw material, packing material, WIP, and finished goods inventory accounting
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconciliation with SAP/ERP
- Maintain fixed asset register, depreciation schedules, and CWIP tracking (relevant for plant expansions/capex)
Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory returns
- Handle assessments, audits, and liaise with tax consultants/auditors
- Ensure compliance with pharma-specific regulatory and excise requirements (if applicable)
- Support statutory, internal,
and cost audits
Budgeting & MIS
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
- Perform variance analysis between budgeted and actual figures
- Support management with financial analysis for pricing, tender costing, and profitability of product lines
Internal Controls & ERP
- Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and SOPs
- Work on ERP/SAP systems for accounting, costing, and inventory modules
- Support process improvement initiatives in finance and costing workflows
Team & Coordination
- Supervise junior accountants/accounts executives
- Coordinate with procurement, production, quality, and stores departments for financial data accuracy
- Liaise with banks for fund management, LC, and working capital requirements
Required Qualifications
- Education: B.Com/M.Com; CA (Inter)/CMA (Inter) preferred; Full CA/CMA an advantage
- Experience: 5–8 years in accounting/finance, with at least 2–3 years in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry (IV fluid/parenteral manufacturing experience strongly preferred)
Key Skills
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and manufacturing/process industry accounting
- Proficiency in Tally/SAP/ERP systems
- Sound knowledge of GST, TDS, and Indian taxation laws
- Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
- Understanding of pharma regulatory environment (WHO-GMP, Schedule M, drug pricing regulations — DPCO, if applicable)
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and cross-functional coordination ability
Preferred Attributes
- Experience with batch/lot costing in a regulated manufacturing setup
- Exposure to capital expenditure accounting (plant/machinery investments)
- Ability to work under deadlines during audits and statutory filings
- High attention to detail and integrity in financial reporting
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
