Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Technical Consultant with 6–10+ years of experience in Enterprise Applications and a strong 6–8 years of hands-on ABAP development experience .

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Core ABAP, ABAP Objects, SAP technical architecture, integrations, debugging and performance optimization , along with a good understanding of SAP business processes and enterprise data across SD, MM, FI/CO and PP .

Experience with SAP S/4HANA, CDS Views, AMDP, BOPF, SAP Gateway, SAPUI5/Fiori and modern ABAP development will be an added advantage.

The role requires close collaboration with global teams, functional teams, regional data centers and application support teams while ensuring high-quality delivery in accordance with SDLC processes and service-level agreements (SLAs) .

Required Skills & Experience

- 6+ years of overall experience in Enterprise Applications.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant hands-on SAP ABAP development experience .
- Strong and proven Core ABAP development skills.
- Strong expertise in ABAP Objects / Object-Oriented Programming .
- Strong understanding of SAP technical architecture.
- Positive understanding of SAP business processes and data across SD, MM, FI/CO and PP .
- Hands-on experience with SAP development objects including BAdIs, Enhancements, User Exits, BAPIs, Reports, Forms, Interfaces and Conversion programs .
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Experience with SAP integration technologies such as IDoc, EDI, Proxy, Web Services and XI/PI .
- Strong understanding of SDLC, technical documentation, testing and code review processes .
- Experience working in production support and incident management environments.
- Ability to work effectively with global and cross-functional teams.

1. SAP ABAP Development

- Design, develop, enhance and maintain SAP applications using Core ABAP in ECC 6.0 and higher environments.
- Develop scalable and maintainable solutions using ABAP Objects / Object-Oriented Programming .

1. SAP Functional & Technical Understanding

- Demonstrate a strong understanding of SAP business documents, master data and transaction data.
- Work across primary SAP modules including:
- Sales & Distribution (SD)
- Materials Management (MM)
- Finance & Controlling (FI/CO)
- Production Planning (PP)
- Understand cross-functional business processes and configuration dependencies.
- Analyze technical requirements with a clear understanding of SAP enterprise data and business processes.

1. SAP Integration & Interfaces

- Design, develop and troubleshoot SAP interfaces and integration solutions.
- Work with technologies including:
- IDocs / EDI
- Web Services
- Proxies
- SAP XI/PI
- SAP Gateway
- Collaborate with integration teams and other technical teams to resolve interface issues.
- Participate in SEGW modeling and troubleshooting .

1. SAP S/4HANA Development

- Develop and support SAP S/4HANA ABAP solutions.
- Experience with modern S/4HANA development technologies such as:
- CDS Views
- AMDP
- BOPF
- HANA-optimized ABAP
- Good understanding of the SAP S/4HANA technology stack and its architecture.
- Apply appropriate development approaches based on SAP's abstraction layers and HANA architecture.

1. SAP Fiori / UI Development

- Develop and support custom SAPUI5 and Fiori applications .
- Extend and enhance SAP-delivered Fiori applications.
- Experience with SAP Gateway modeling and OData services .
- Knowledge of frontend development using JavaScript .




- Exposure to SAP Personas will be an advantage.

1. Performance Optimization & Root Cause Analysis

- Perform detailed technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis using SAP tools.
- Utilize tools including:
- ABAP Debugger
- Application Logs
- SQL Trace / ST05
- SQL Monitor (SQLM)
- SCMON
- Code Inspector / Code Optimization tools
- Transport and Version Management
- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement appropriate technical improvements.
- Follow SAP-recommended development and performance practices

1. Development Standards & SDLC

- Follow established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
- Ensure high-quality coding, documentation, testing and deployment.
- Adhere to SAP layers of abstraction, including appropriate use of:
- Open SQL
- SAP Data Dictionary
- Native SQL where justified
- Operating system-level commands only where appropriate
- Conduct and participate in code reviews.
- Prepare and review:
- Technical specifications
- Unit test documents
- Test scripts
- Code review documentation
- Technical solution documents

1. Testing & Development Tools

- Work with SAP development and testing tools including:
- eCATT
- Transaction Recorder
- BDC
- Debugging and tracing tools
- Ensure appropriate unit testing and technical validation before deployment.

1. Incident & Production Support

- Provide L2/L3 technical support for SAP applications.
- Perform incident analysis, troubleshooting and resolution within defined SLAs.
- Work with incident management platforms such as Remedy .
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Support production releases, emergency fixes and change requests.

1. Global Team Collaboration

- Coordinate effectively with global SAP teams and stakeholders.
- Work closely with functional consultants, regional data centers, local support teams, integration teams and business users.
- Participate in global SAP projects and application support activities.
- Ensure effective communication and timely resolution of technical issues.
- Demonstrate a strong customer-centric approach and commitment to service quality.
