Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Purchase Manager with 8+ years of strong experience in procurement and purchasing of mobile phones, consumer electronics, consumer durables, and accessories.

The candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end purchasing function for a retail network of 150+ stores, ensuring optimum product availability, competitive pricing, healthy inventory levels, and effective vendor management.

The ideal candidate should have strong relationships with major brands, distributors, and suppliers, along with excellent commercial negotiation and inventory planning skills.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Purchasing

- Develop and execute purchase strategies for mobile phones, electronics, consumer durables, and accessories.
- Manage end-to-end procurement for 150+ retail stores based on sales trends, store requirements, inventory levels, and business plans.
- Plan purchases to ensure the right product, quantity, price, and timing.
- Monitor market trends, new product launches, pricing movements, promotions, and competitor activity.
- Ensure optimum product availability across stores while minimizing excess and slow-moving inventory.
- Negotiate pricing, schemes, margins, credit terms, payment terms, rebates, and other commercial benefits with vendors.

Vendor & Brand Management

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, authorized distributors, and suppliers.
- Manage commercial negotiations with brands and distributors to achieve competitive purchase prices and maximum margins.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on pricing, availability, service levels, credit terms, and delivery commitments.
- Identify new vendors and sourcing opportunities to improve product range and profitability.
- Coordinate with brand representatives and distributors for new launches, promotions, schemes,



and stock allocations.

Inventory & Demand Planning

- Analyze sales data and historical trends to prepare purchase forecasts.
- Monitor inventory ageing, stock turns, sell-through, and product-wise/store-wise inventory.
- Develop strategies to reduce dead stock, slow-moving inventory, and excess stock.
- Ensure appropriate stock allocation across 150+ stores based on demand and sales potential.
- Coordinate stock transfers between stores wherever required to optimize inventory.
- Track fast-moving and high-demand products and ensure timely replenishment.

Commercial & Business Performance

- Monitor category-wise purchase margins and profitability.
- Prepare and track purchase budgets and procurement plans.
- Analyze purchase prices against market prices and competitor pricing.
- Maximize benefits from vendor schemes, incentives, volume discounts, and promotional programs.
- Work closely with the finance team on vendor payments, credit limits, claims, and reconciliations.
- Prepare MIS and management reports covering purchases, inventory, margins, ageing, and vendor performance.

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Work closely with Sales, Retail Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Supply Chain/Logistics teams.
- Coordinate with the retail team to understand store-level demand and upcoming requirements.
- Support marketing and sales teams with product availability for campaigns and promotional activities.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely receipt and distribution of products.

Candidate Profile

- 8+ years of relevant experience in purchase/procurement, preferably in organized retail.
- Strong experience in purchasing mobile phones, consumer electronics, consumer durables, and accessories.
- Experience managing procurement for a large retail network, preferably 100+ stores.
- Strong knowledge of brands, distributors, market pricing, product launches, and channel dynamics.
- Excellent negotiation and commercial acumen.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales and inventory data.
- Experience with ERP/POS/purchasing and inventory management systems.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MIS reporting.
- Strong vendor management and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage large volumes, multiple categories, and multiple vendors simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience Candidates from large-format retail, multi-brand retail, electronics retail, mobile retail, consumer durables, or distribution businesses will be preferred.

Experience handling procurement across 150+ stores and managing significant purchase volumes will be an added advantage.

Education

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Commerce, or a related field.
- MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, or Business Management will be an advantage.

Role Expectations The Purchase Manager will play a critical role in ensuring that the organization maintains the right balance between availability, margins, inventory, and working capital across its 150+ store network. The successful candidate will be expected to build strong vendor partnerships while continuously improving procurement efficiency and profitability.
